Had a wonderful time having a "Red Shoe Party" (basically everyone wears red shoes). It was A LOT of fun! Meggie did demo's...

Fabulous goody bags and gifts

The spread was yummy, if I do say so myself!

My favorite, Strawberry Salad....

These is the jewelry that Meggie was demonstrating.

Selah is side-eyeing her chupon!

Never one to take a bad picture!

We had to prove old school way that we could walk in our Red Shoes!

Alma was a PRO!

Emily in FLATS and still had some trouble! LOL!

Monica is mocking Alma...

I have my GAME face ON!!!!

I think Alma is trying to see everyone else's answers are!

And there's never a party without an "incident" :P

Photographer or Stay At Home Mom?

So often your asked "Where do you work?" or "What do you do?" and I'm always caught between do I say I'm a stay-at-home-mom? or a photographer? Is one better than the other? Does one symbolize more respect than the other? I mean when I was a working and someone asked "Where do you work?" I would easily answer "At ________ title company" "What do you do?" "I'm an Escrow Officer" yada yada yada but I'm been "not working" since November 2010 and I gotta admit it's been an adjustment. I've always worked. I mean I took time off for each of my children when they were born but I would go back to "work". But I've never been over a year without a job. Now all this time, I had always taken photographs but I never felt like I could say "Oh I'm and Escrow Officer and a Photographer" because well it sounded just weird. But now when I CAN say it, I still feel like I shouldn't because I don't have like a separate studio, or an official degree I can hang on the wall or something. I don't know...maybe it's just my self conscious...Well then to say I'm a stay-at-home-mom, I immediately feel this stigma that I must be on my couch eating bom boms, (is that terrible?) I mean let me be completely honest, being at home is a lot of hard work and I would rather WORK! Yes, I said it! It's sooooo much easier to WORK than stay at home. I don't have an excuse to slack off on cleaning, I have to cook like full blown meals, no excuse for the hamburger helper any more, I have to clean toilets and dishes, I have to help my son with FRACTIONS!!! oh my! But at the end of the day, at 11pm (sometimes later) I am happy to be home. I really love my children and I couldn't even begin to imagine Selah being at daycare and I get a little break when I go to my ONE class in school. So....I don't have a photograph to go with this rant...lol but I would like to hear some feedback...what do YOU think?

I'm still taking pictures

I know I haven't posted in a bit, but I have been taking pictures. It's just sometimes hard to post every night...still got a nursing baby and two school kiddos and not to mention a hubby to tend to too! No excuses though, I'm catching up!

Tuesday (01/24)I had an awesome photo shoot with my realtor friend, Diana!
I've been exploring with creating my own backgrounds. What do ya'll think?

Wednesday (01/25) I took this candid of my Selah...I love candids!
She was sitting with my in my office and I looked over and this is the face staring back at me...I'm one blessed momma!

Mary Kay Party

In continuation with yesterday's post, I hosted a Mary Kay party for my cousin. I love that Mary Kay always makes you feel extra special with their products, and I love the fancy face mirrors my cousin brought along too :-)
